The Air I Breathe, Worship As A lifestyle
This is a book i've been reading and I didn't really write down any notes while reading this book... Anyway, I'm gonna write down here the stuff i've learnt so far... =]
-We are created to worship, it is our response to what we value most in life.
-You become what you worship. So if you don't like who you're becoming, check whose sitting on the throne of your heart.
-It does not matter where you worship, It's who you worship that is important.
Here's another part of the book that I find really good:
Which would you prefer?
A dad who tells you how important you are
OR a dad who actually turns up for
the important stuff in your life?
Friends who keep reminding you how "tight" you
are OR friends who are there when you need
them most, never stabbing you in the back?
A "significant other" who makes you really cool
homemade cards telling you you're the best thing
that has ever happened to them
OR one who respects you, keeps your trust
and doesn't cheat on you?
Someone who tells you how special you are
OR someone who shows you?
Well if you're like me, the answer is... BOTH! I want the words and the actions, and i'm guessing the same can be said about you.
Well, God is no different than you and me. The worship God is after is BOTH kind of worship. He wants our words and our actions.
...
Really cool stuff huh? Oh and another thing i've learnt from, i can't remember where, is that lets always take time to think about God,the cross and all... Cos He is the reason why we go to church, exist, smile, be free in the face of troubles, so much more reasons why we should think about God! Let's never forget the reason why we exist and why there's church! =D
God bless!
A Vision About Repentance
Today during the leaders day of fasting prayer meeting, I think it was a vision that I saw... Anyway what I saw was,
It was raining heavily with thunder and lightning. I saw a man in his room in great distress. He started writing his sins and things in his life that he wanted to let go of. He wrote a few stuff then after writing something he wanted to let go of (a broken relationship to be specific), he got really frustrated and he crushed the paper and threw it at the wall... The crushed paper hit the wall, bounced of it and landed at some corner of his room. Very symbolic huh, crushing a paper written with sins and stuff... Well, the man didn't feel any better, in fact he felt even worse. He stood up, walked to the crushed paper, took it and started tearing it into pieces, then he threw it into the bin. Only then did he feel peace and refreshed.
Alright, so what I think this vision means is that, when we sin, lets not put our sins aside and forget about it. Because the sin is going to stay somewhere in our hearts. But instead, just like how the man tore the piece of crushed paper, lets tear and break our sins through repentance and let no sin dwell in any corner of our hearts. =]
Really curious about where God's calling me to... I seem to be investing into alot of my friends life, recently alot of school friends lives. Being a listening ear for them and also getting to know them better, It's gonna be an interesting journey! =D
Wasting Life On Things That Won't Last Forever?
The Corne Bekker seminar was awesome!!! Learnt alot from it! =]
During the seminar, he was talking about life being short, to make good use of it and all...
Then some thoughts came to my mind... I was thinking, if I were to take music as my career, like secular music and all, just making music to entertain people, am I wasting my life on things that won't last forever? I guess the answer is an obvious yes! But going into the music world whether secular or not, if I reach the lost through my music, I wouldn't be wasting my life!
Still unsure of what God's ultimate plan for my life is, but it's gonna be an exciting journey! =D
-God Bless =]
